I love great packaging. I'm also a huge Jay Z fan so when a dope album like Magna Carta Holy Grail is released on vinyl with special packaging, I can't help but get excited.
The design for this project, and the original cd packaging of the album was done by Brian Roettinger. His design style is really interesting because he focuses so much on making things unique in a time of boring repetitive design in the hip hop/rap world. In the video below Roettinger invites Noisey into his studio to talk design and packaging.
I'm not sure why Jack White's Third Man is releasing the Jay Z vinyl but I would love to get my hands on a copy of this project.
